Under-19s Update

First and foremost, Rachel of The Bubble, and also the U-19 Eagles Manager has used her bloggeriffic skills to build a U-19 Women’s Rugby Blog.

And two other U-19 updates by e-mail …

U19 All-Stars Gather in Nashville on November 18-19
In addition to the DI and DII Club Women playing rugby in North Carolina and Florida this weekend, the youngest female rugby players will be taking the field next weekend in the inaugural Women’s U19 Invitational National All-Star Tournament!

Complete tournament details can be found at:
www.redrhinosrugby.com/nasc.

On November 18-19 at Ezell Park in Nashville TN, four geographic areas (MidWest, Northeast, USA Rugby South, and West) will be participating in this ground breaking event. The idea of USA Rugby U19 WNT Coach Bryn Chivers, this event will showcase many U19 Eagles and their teammates from some of the strongest U19 programs in the country.

As age grade women’s rugby continues to grow in the United States, more and more colleges and clubs will be seeing these young ladies for many years to come.

Tournament Director Dara Smith may be contacted at director@redrhinosrugby.com for
more information.

Met Union Clubs!

It’s finally here – Girls U19 Division formed in the METNY Union!

This coming Spring 2007 will see the launch of the MetNY Union’s Girls U19 division. The division so far is made up of 5 teams: Morris LadyLions, Union County Girls, Elizabeth HS Girls, Kingston City HS Girls, and the new U19 team being run by the NYRC Women’s team. This will be a full contact division like the Boys U19 divisions. There’s plenty of room for more teams and we know of at least one young lady who really wants to play but has no teams closer than 1 hour away. She lives in Bergen County and while an hour drive to practices might not be a big deal for adults, it can be for HS players so we need a team up in Bergen County!

We are committed to giving as many teams as want it an opportunity to play so if you can form a team with only 10 players, for example, that’ll work. If you don’t have 15 players, we’ll play 10s or 7s or 12s or whatever is needed to give the girls game time.

More information to come as the administration stuff gets worked out! For now, please contact Pam Laura at plaura@verizon.net or Lex MacCubbin at lexmaccubbin@yahoo.com for more info.

SPREAD THE WORD!
