USA Rugby had a screwy list when it officially announced the women’s 7s developmental team going to Barbados and has issued a correction.
Here’s the true list …
The U.S. development team includes Olivia Anglade (Stanford University); co-captain Annie Antar (Atlanta Harlequins); Christine Barber (Buffalo); Amanda Bonnano (Miami RFC); Tania Carlson (Chicago Northshore); Liz Dilly (Washington Furies); co-captain Sue Hanson (Wisconsin); Kate Hennenberg (Chicago Northshore); Rebecca Royce (ORSU); and Laurel Stender (Las Vegas).
And off one of my e-mail updates, another fundraiser for a 7s player in MARFU:
As most of you know I was recently selected to the US Dev 7s team to compete in a tournament in Barbados. I attribute getting this opportunity to all the support from the area men’s teams, to my own teammates for working out with me and to the incredible amount of knowledge I gained by practicing and playing next to all of you.
>Unfortunately, USA Women’s 7s funding is low. I need to raise the money to cover all expenditures. To cover these costs I will be having a Happy Hour Fundraiser at the 18th Amendment on Friday, November 3 from 5-8.00pm. I will have a raffle for USA rugby gear and ask for donations at the door. If you will be around that Friday I would appreciate for your continued support! Bring your co-workers, teammates and friends! Thanks a million!
In rugby knowing is half the battle, the other half is being fit.
