Shoutout for my team …

Just because I love my team and well, this is my blog …

An excerpt via Goff’s recap (subscription required) of our Midwest D-I League games from this past weekend and updated standings, previewing that the Valkyries will play North Shore this weekend for first place in our league. The Zons are in first right now but only because all the teams haven’t played out their byes …

Indeed North Shore put away a continually improving Wisconsin side 39-15 over the weekend despite being without Eagle Pam Kosanke, who was recovering from World Cup duty.

“We knew they would give us a good game,” said North Shore coach Sara Corcoran. “They put up a fight and we need that as we’re competing in the Midwest.”

Yup, a muddy, muddy fight. And we were disappointed that in both of our games against the Valkyries and North Shore, we were THISCLOSE to earning bonus points for scoring four tries. Scrappy, that’s what we are.
