Updated: Leafs Edge Eagles 20-18, Despite Late USA Rally

The USA-Canada series in Boulder, Colorado finishes in a 1-1 split as our northern rivals edge the Eagles by two points, 20-18.

Thanks to Rachel (of Brooklyn Bubble fame) for the first score update via e-mail!

The Americans were down 17-3 at the half, but rallied back to climb within two points while keeping the Canadians tryless in the second half. The Eagles missed two late penalty kicks that would have given them the win though.

No one has scoring breakdowns yet or highlights. Will add more as I find it. 🙂

Women Eagles Miss On Second Match
6.13.06 – The Women Eagles dropped a tough one today to Rugby Canada. Rugby Canada dominated the first half 3-17 but the Women Eagles came back in the second half to bring the score to 19-20. The US then missed two heartbreaking penalty kicks with minutes to spare leaving the final score 19-20.

US Coach Kathy Flores said, “we came out flat in the first half and Canada took advantage. We were able to come back in the second half strong but were unable to make up the difference from the first half scoring. We suffered from poor tackling and last minute decision-making that cost us the game. I give a lot of credit to Canada for keeping us out in the second half, they played very well today.”
