WNT To Honor Cap Winners
Monday June 05 2006
Social follows WNT fixture
USA Rugby will recognize past and present players who have represented their country as members of the Women?s National Team via an Honor Cap Reception on June 10 at 8 p.m. at the Millennium Harvest House (1345 Twenty-Eighth Street, Boulder, 303/443-3850) in Boulder.
The social follows the Women’s National Team’s 4 p.m. fixture against Rugby Canada at North Boulder’s PleasantView Soccer Complex.
The ceremony is a first of its kind for female international representatives of USA Rugby and another step in bringing increased recognition to the women’s game. All athletes will be honored individually and will receive an honor cap as a token of their dedication to women’s representative rugby.
The event provides the opportunity for members of the current women’s national team and their supporters to re-connect with the athletes that have paved the way for a successful upcoming Women’s Rugby World Cup campaign in Edmonton, Alberta. The event also offers a prime opportunity to spread awareness of the sport and formulate connections with the Women’s Vision Foundation, which has generously publicized this event via area professional networks.
All donors who have contributed as red level and above supporters of the ‘Friends of the USA Rugby WNT Fund’ receive invitations to this event along with the honored athletes. Those in attendance will be treated to a grand women’s rugby social offering refreshments and presentations by prominent members of the community.
The reception is free to invitees as well as the general public.
And don’t forget, help out the Women’s National Team with fundraising here.
Also, a quick story on the Malta women’s national team that improved play at the recent European 7s. Always cool to hear about women’s rugby in other countries.
